Le végétal est au cœur de sa pratique. Emmanuelle Naux étudie le polymorphisme des plantes à travers différentes lignes imaginaires, constituant de profondes réflexions sur la vie, ses mécanismes et les moteurs de l’évolution.
Chaque plante est récoltée avec méthode, dans le respect de son cycle naturel. « J’attends mes fleurs », dit-elle. « Je collecte uniquement ce qui est prêt à être prélevé : graines tombées, fleurs cassées, feuilles et bois issus d’élagage ou de saison. » Chaque spécimen est étudié : nom, coordonnées géographiques, date, climat.
Cette matière est toujours liée au terrain, à l’humain, à la rencontre : jardiniers de parcs, promeneurs curieux, botanistes éclairés ou ouvriers croisés au détour d’une rue. Apprendre partout, de tous.
Travailler avec le vivant, c’est intégrer une logique organique, où chaque élément suit un rythme propre, une architecture subtile et parfois imprévisible que seule la nature maîtrise.
The Poetry of Plants
At the heart of Emmanuelle Naux’s practice lies the vegetal world. She explores the many forms of plant life through imagined lines and organic structures that unfold into meditations on existence, its mechanisms, and, more profoundly, the forces of evolution.
Each plant is gathered with method and care, always in harmony with its natural rhythm. “I wait for my flowers,” she explains. “I only collect what is ready to be taken, fallen leaves, seeds, broken blooms, branches marked by the passing of the seasons.” Every specimen is meticulously documented: name, geographic coordinates, date, and climate.
This material cannot be separated from its place or the encounters that shape it : gardeners tending parks, curious passersby, passionate botanists, or craftsmen met by chance along the way. Knowledge gathered everywhere, from everyone.
To work with the living is to follow an organic logic, one that respects the rhythm of things, their subtle and sometimes unpredictable architecture, guided by nature alone.
